this video is crazy cheesy, but ive been researching home automation for the past couple months (especially after we got our ip camera), and i think ive settled on the insteon system due to its simplicity and cost.
so ive been listening to dubstep a bit at work since it makes decent background music. after about a week it started getting repetitive, but i found this vid and it made me chuckle - cuz its true! dubstep is a genre whose songs all follow a simple formula. either way, i still like cranking some of the bassier tracks on my ‘phones for fun at work.
for those sensitive to it, there is a bad word @1:44 of the vid.
this is just one of many go-kart videos i watched last week, but its high quality and high speed are a good representation of the hobby and worthy of my tumblr. when we have a bigger house with a larger (and ideally, detatched) garage, i think i might swap computers for go-karts as my money-pit leisure pursuit.
ive presented this to a few arlingtoners, and they claim its veracity. as a fellow northern virginian, many of these things are still applicable.
its been a while
i have/had a couple posts in mind, but i dont remember what they are at the moment. hopefully theyll make it to my tumblr. i think one was about recent movies and tv shows weve seen. oh yeah, i also wanted to make another post about my essential apps and newly discovered faves since my last apps post.
olivia is doing well, and talking a lot more. in fact, its downright surprising sometimes what comes out of her mouth.

i was cruisin the web this morning and discovered a site where you could add settings icons to your iphone homescreen without jailbreaking anything. basically it is a shortcut you place on your homescreen that takes you directly to a specific settings toggle within the settings app. it relies on a javascript to work, so your phone briefly opens and closes a tab in safari before going to your settings. though it takes a second, it is still faster than navigating around the settings app.
i added bluetooth, wifi, and auto-lock, for example.

either way, the way to install the script is to go to the site on your iDevice, and select the setting menu you want, follow to prompts to install the profile, and then it will appear on your homescreen where you can position it where you please.
